Dictionary.com defines a neophile as...
* The ability to adapt rapidly to extreme change
* A distaste or downright loathing of tradition, repetition, and routine
* A tendency to become bored quickly with old things
* A desire, bordering on obsession in some cases, to experience novelty
* A corresponding and related desire to create novelty by creating or achieving something and/or by stirring social or other forms of unrest.
All of these seem to kinda fit for my personality. Oddly, I came up with the word this way. I've been searching for a site or blog devoted to mainly Audio technology outside of your typical Best Buy world. Something verging on Audiophile quality but not burdened by such snobbery or exorbitant prices. So I took two words. Neophyte and Audiophile, and I combined them to come up with Neophile.
I've made some good decisions and some bad decisions when purchasing products in this gray area and I intend to share them with you. I will also keep you and myself updated to things I find around. I probably will not limit this blog to audio technology though. Two purchases I've recently made are not completely audio related but i'd like to share them with you regardless. Stay tuned for these first posts.
